Alpena High School, located in the charming city of Alpena, Michigan, offers a well-rounded education to its diverse student body. The football and basketball programs at Alpena High School are among the most popular and successful in the region. The football team has a fierce rivalry with neighboring teams, particularly those from Traverse City and Petoskey. In basketball, the Wildcats take on local rivals such as Traverse City West and East, as well as Gaylord and Petoskey. Alpena High School is a proud member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). The association oversees and regulates all interscholastic sports in Michigan, ensuring fair play and sportsmanship across all teams.
